Five people from one family were found dead at three different locations in southwestern Germany, local authorities said on Wednesday, reported Xinhua.
The victims were discovered on Tuesday in Reutlingen, Pfullingen, and St. Johann. Investigators believe the 63-year-old father killed four relatives before taking his own life, according to the Tuebingen public prosecutor's office and the Reutlingen police department.
A caregiver first found the man's 60-year-old sister dead in her apartment in Reutlingen on Tuesday morning. Police soon identified her brother as a suspect.
That evening, police officers searching his home in Pfullingen found the 63-year-old man and his 57-year-old wife dead from gunshot wounds, alongside a firearm believed to have been used in the killings.
A subsequent visit to the man's business premises in St. Johann led officers to the bodies of his two sons, aged 27 and 29, who had also been fatally shot.
Investigators said there is no evidence pointing to an outside suspect. The motive and full sequence of events remain under investigation.
