Ukraine scales back some military operations over lack of ammunition
The Ukrainian forces have scaled back some operations in the conflict with Russia due to the lack of ammunition, the government-run Ukrinform news agency reported Monday, citing a military official, said Xinhua.
Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, the commander of the Tavria operational and strategic grouping of troops, said that Ukraine is experiencing a particular shortage of 122-millimeter and 152-millimeter shells.
"The volumes that we currently have are not sufficient given our needs," Tarnavskyi said.
The Ukrainian troops switched to defense in some areas on the southeastern front, while continuing offensive actions in other sectors, he noted.
The Russian forces also face problems with ammunition, Tarnavskyi said, without giving other details.
