Turkish Airlines finalizes deal to purchase 225 Boeing aircraft

Turkish Airlines, Türkiye's national flag carrier, said on Friday that it has finalized a deal with U.S. aircraft manufacturer Boeing to purchase 225 planes, reported Xinhua.
The deal includes 75 B787-9 and B787-10 Dreamliner jets — 50 firm orders and 25 optional — with deliveries planned between 2029 and 2034.
Negotiations with Rolls-Royce and GE Aerospace remain ongoing for the aircraft's engines, spare parts, and maintenance services, the airline added.
The airline has also concluded talks with Boeing for 150 B737-8/10 MAX aircraft — 100 firm and 50 optional. The orders will proceed following the completion of negotiations with engine supplier CFM International, it noted.
The announcement came a day after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with his U.S. counterpart, Donald Trump, during which the aircraft deal was reportedly discussed.
