Schools in France evacuated after receiving threatening messages
Students in eight schools in northern France's department of Seine-Maritime were evacuated Wednesday after messages threatening an attack were received, the local Prefecture has announced, reported Xinhua.
Although no actual threat had been confirmed, the concerned schools proceeded with evacuation for police investigation, the Prefecture of Seine-Maritime said in a press release.
"Investigations are underway … The public prosecutor of Rouen has opened an investigation entrusted to the territorial direction of the judicial police," the Prefecture added.
According to the French daily Le Figaro, a 17-year-old teenager has been arrested by local police. However, the public prosecutor's office in Rouen has refused to provide "any other information at this stage."
On Tuesday, several schools across France were also evacuated after receiving threatening messages.
