Merz aims for joint production of long-range arms with Kiev
Germany and Ukraine are aiming to jointly produce long-range weapons, Chancellor Friedrich Merz said in Berlin on Wednesday after a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, reported dpa.
Merz said the German and Ukrainian defence ministers are to sign a letter of intent on the "procurement of long-range weapons systems from Ukrainian production."
The chancellor said the move represents "the start of a new form of military-industrial co-operation between our countries, which has great potential."
Zelensky added that the letter of intent would involve the financing of ongoing missile production projects in Ukraine.
