German Chancellor catches Covid-19
Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Monday that he contracted Covid-19 and will restrict his in-person engagements, reported dpa.
"This is clearly not a surprise that I'm happy about. My current Covid-19 tests show two lines," he posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"With few symptoms, I'm counting on a mild course and just working from my desk for now," Scholz, 65, continued.
Scholz is in his office and is taking part in government business by video conference, said his spokesman Steffen Hebestreit.
The chancellor will not be attending public appointments on Monday and Tuesday. A visit by Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico for Tuesday has been cancelled, Hebestreit said.
