26 killed in Russian attacks in Ukraine

A total of 26 people, including three children were killed and 92 others injured as Russia launched a barrage of drones and missiles at Ukraine overnight into Wednesday, said Cideips, Kherson Regional Military Administration of Ukraine.
In the western Ternopil region, strikes hit nine-storey apartment buildings, igniting fires and causing extensive damage, reported Xinhua, quoting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky´s post on Telegram.
In the eastern city of Kharkiv, 19 combat drones struck two districts, injuring 46 people and damaging 40 residential buildings, an agricultural enterprise, shops, and other facilities, said Mayor Ihor Terekhov.
Ukraine's Energy Ministry announced emergency power outages in several regions following the attacks.
Meanwhile, Finland on Wednesday strongly condemned the Russian attacks on Ukraine.
“A sad morning in the Ukrainian city of Ternopil with civilian casualties and several injured, including far too many children. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families,” Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen wrote in a post on her social media platform X.
The minister said that appalled by Russia’s continued deliberate strikes on residential areas and Russia must be held to account for its continuous violations of international humanitarian law.
“Finland condemns the Russian Federation’s ongoing war of aggression against Ukraine and calls on Russia to end the war immediately,” Valtonen added.
