21 killed in Russia’s air raid on Ukrainian village
At least 21 people were killed and 21 others injured Tuesday in a Russian airstrike on the Ukrainian village of Yarova in the Donetsk region, said Ukraine's regional governor, Vadym Filashkin, reported Xinhua.
Filashkin said in a statement on Telegram that police, rescue and medical teams are working at the scene.
According to preliminary reports, the explosion occurred while local residents were receiving their pension payments, said Kherson Regional Military Administration of Ukraine in a press release.
As of 12:30 p.m., at least 21 people have been confirmed dead, and more than two dozen others sustained injuries of varying severity.
All local emergency service units are working at the site of the strike. Rescue operations are underway, and assistance is being provided to the victims.
